Are you getting Enough B12?

Vitamin B12, also known as cyanocobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin that is vital for healthy cells: it affects the development and maintenance of red blood cells, nerve cells, and normal myelination (covering) of nerve cells. It also aids in the production of DNA and RNA, and the synthesis of neurotransmitters. We can obtain vitamin B12 only from animal foods, including dairy, eggs, meat, fish, poultry, and shellfish, so vegetarians and vegans are often at risk for B12 deficiency.

New York switches from real to fake grass

NEW YORK (UPI) -- New York plans to spend about $150 million installing 100 synthetic playing fields in parks across the city over the next five years.

The artificial turf, which is supposed to be spongy enough to prevent most injuries, is cheaper and easier for Parks Department workers to maintain, the New York Post reported Monday.

The Parks Department started installing synthetic fields in 2002 and there are already 74 of them in parks across the city.

The turf, consisting of plastic grass on a bed of crushed old rubber tires, saves the city about $15,000 a year per field in maintenance costs, said the Post.

It also provides "a softness and sponginess that's more like real grass," said Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe.

Knowing what I Should Do!

Hey you all,

I know that my sugar has been running high! Number one... I have been sick, so that ususally means that your sugar usually is high! Today, I worked a little bit, and well, actually I did some cooking for a bunch of folks and it was awesome! I was proud to have been putting in some time, and weel, we made some homemade Macaroni and Cheese with Ham! Yepp, that is right, it was good, and we cooked for about 150 people. It felt good, but I found that my shoulder was starting to hurt when we were putting the cheese in with the mac!

It feels good to sit back and relax! And there are people here that are willing to learn and with what I know.. I am glad to help!Anyways.... I just wanted to let you know that I am alive and kicking here in Good ole San Jose, California!

We first cooked the macaroni and then cut the ham into chunks, and then put in the cheese.. it was a Trio cheese! and then we also crumpled up some bread crumbs, and sprinkled on top... and let it bake for a minute :)) MMMmmmmmmmmm it was good! Anyways.... Time for me to catch up on my fellow blogs

PEACE!
